US OPEN--Kane ripping a forehand

Monday--home by noon--nothing better than airline charges for bags, rudeness

at the counter, and getting frisked every place I go because of a hip

replacement!! Went to customer service to complain and they admitted to me

the airline does not care about customers any more. The people who waited on

me were as fed up as I was. I won't mention the name of the airline for fear

I would UNITE everyone and they would be UNITED against the the airline!!

Kane played the best three games ever played in the history of racquetball yesterday

and won 11-2, 11-2, and 11-5. The shot-making was incredible. I hope this young

man finally gets his due as the greatest. He has longevity to achieve yet--everything

else he already has. A great trip--now on to the bad stuff--I am being operated on

next Tuesday--to replace my right hip--will be totally ceramic after that but able to walk

comfortably. Thanks everyone for tuning in--will have more info as I get healing up--

later--onward and upward--Coach Dub

Sunday am--finals--I love the smell of racquetball in the morning!!

Sorry I stole that line from a t-shirt I saw yesterday.  A great day for

me yesterday. Brad Kirch lost in the semis of the open--which means

he got there at age 16--top four men in the us open--not bad. Also

Kane won in 3 vs Jack. We are witnessing something special in this

guy.

drive serve left--followed by a cross court--backhand rollout to get to matchpoint!

below: match point air Kane rekill-- match Kane--in 3 !!

Good morning--Saturday am--got to bed after the last match last night

at 12:30am--Rhonda Rajsich lost in four to Brenda Kyzer. It was a

huge upset as the number 8 seed took out my lady, the number one

seed. All I can say about that is Brenda played some fantastic racquetball

and shot lights out. Kane won his match in five games--and it was a war.

There were the usual unbelievable shots and rallies, and of course the

"old ball coach" was a tad nervous. One of the neatest things of the day was

Brad Kirch, the 16 year old Syracuse phenom. He advanced on to the semis

by defeating Juan Hererra in an 11-8 tiebreaker. So today I have a lesson at

10am-match to coach with Brad at 11 and will probably leave early to coach Kane

noon. Alas, no women to coach--so maybe I will get to relax in the afternoon!!

Stay tuned for more recaps!!

October 23--up early today--watched several matches yesterday--

junior Brad Kirch won his pro match and qualified into Juan Herarra

-who dispatched him in three straight games--due mostly to experience-

- points were hard to come by--the USA coaching staff stopped by to

scout him out and take notes. Kane started his play yesterday and plays today

at 10:20am--I got my new logo yesterday but it will be a few days before

I can upload it. Kane-Rhonda-Jo-all play today--onward and upward--JW

October 22-- Getting ready to travel to Memphis--have a full day

ahead as it is 4am--first up --Brad Kirch at 1:40 in the pro

qualifier--then on to the matches tomorrow--all in all am

checking in on about 10 players--as well as meetings

with E-Force, RacquetWorld, and racquetball 24-7 for the next five

days!! Onward and upward !!!
